Ministry Overview Hosanna! is dedicated to serving children and families through a variety of ministries. Our children are cared for, celebrated, and invited to participate in the life of the church. Hosanna! is looking for a Children and Family Ministry Director who loves the Lord, loves people of all ages with a focus on children, and has a passion to lead humbly.
Children & Family Ministry Mission Statement To equip all God’s children to KNOW, GROW in, and SHOW God’s love!
Purpose Provide leadership and vision to overall ministry development, coordination, implementation, direction to staff and volunteers who are committed to guiding children’s faith from birth through grade 5.
Reports To Hosanna!’s Head of Staff, the Senior Pastor
Qualifications ● Strong Christian faith and a commitment to sharing the Good News ● An understanding and appreciation of the Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ Statement of Faith ● Committed to the Vision, Values, and Beliefs of Hosanna! Lutheran Church ● Excellent written and verbal, age-appropriate, communication skills ● Collaborative with staff and volunteers ● Able to delegate tasks when appropriate ● Self-motivated and able to establish ministry and professional goals ● Experience working with children and families ● Degree in Children and Family Ministry, or equivalent, is preferred ● Basic technology skills with willingness to learn
Primary Duties & Responsibilities 1. Lead and oversee Christian education ministries and special events including Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and Milestones of Faith. 2. Capable of encouraging children and families to participate in worship. 3. Collaborate with all staff, particularly the Preschool Ministry Director, in order to encourage participation in the Children and Family Ministry activities. 4. Recruit, train, and encourage adult and teen volunteers to ensure the successful implementation of all Children and Family Ministry programs and events. 5. Be accountable for managing the Children and Family Ministry budget. 6. Participate in staff meetings, retreats, and other leadership activities as requested. 7. Communicate with the congregation and community about Hosanna! programs and activities through media outlets. 8. Continue to develop ministry skills and strengthen personal faith through continuing education. 9. Serve as one, joyful, and hopeful with other leaders in the life of the church. 10. Cooperate when asked to do whatever it takes to accomplish God’s plan.
Compensation Package Hosanna! is blessed to be able to offer an attractive compensation package which is dependent upon experience and includes paid annual vacation.
Weekly Hours & Expectations 40 hours per week in-person, exempt status, position. Sunday attendance is expected when Sunday School is in session.
